Autumn days - we love getting out into the air and exploring, running and adventuring. These three really enjoyed testing out their new @polarnopyretuk coats today @montaltoestate Verdict was super warm and comfy. They also have puffer jackets that zip in to keep them warmer in winter, they offer free repairs of outerwear and best of all they aim that their items should last the wear of 3 children. Mr 5 - I hope you like blue these are your coats until you are 12!

It feels a bit like a distant dream that we were swimming through the tropical water in the Gulf of Oman with this guy. It was magical, wonderful and so peaceful. Definitely a bit warmer than today. What experiences have made you feel in wonder?

It’s World Mental Health Day and what an incredible day at Stormont it has been - celebrating recovery and hope with the wonderful young people of Belfast who have all been receiving support for their mental health. They’ve shared their journeys, the ups and downs, the importance of friendship, and reaching out for support. Incredible to take a moment and listen to how being there, listening and supporting can save lives. We need to talk more about good mental health and how to maintain it- for ourselves and our children.

It’s a different pace exploring Edinburgh without this gang! As much as I miss them, it’s lovely to be at my own pace- I’m mainly walking coffee shop to coffee shop and seeing some sights in between. Edinburgh has a very good coffee scene and loads of delicious vegetarian options. Focusing on the one thing rather than the manic multi tasking is so much more productive than my daily life! Perhaps the answer to when am I going to finish the PhD is when am I going to get a week or two of just me- no work no kids. (Yes I know that’s not likely to happen anyway time soon!) Do you ever travel alone? Do you like to take in the sights and eat alone?

Good morning from a very autumnal feeling Edinburgh. It’s blustery out there, very windswept already. What you may not know about me is that I’m a bit of an eternal student and I’m currently finishing off a PhD at the University of Edinburgh. So I’m here for a couple of days, kids free, to try and get as much work done as possible. Of course I will check out some of the sights as I go!

Its been a busy few weeks! Lots of work, lots of study, lots of decorating and lots of travel planning - the best bit. Busy few months ahead too. In the midst of all the #brexit news throw back to Miss 11 celebrating her birthday at the European Union. That gorgeous summer weather has been well replaced by the wind and rain!

A weekend in Brussels was a hit to celebrate Miss 11. She’s fully educated on all things EU, an expert in chocolate tasting, and has tried out a few French words. I’ve really enjoyed spending the time with just her and recognising how big she is. It’s hard to get back into school and work after a busy exciting weekend isn’t it? What’s the best birthday treat you’ve ever done?
