What a day - nothing beats a cold wintery walk on

What a day - nothing beats a cold wintery walk on a mountain to blow the cobwebs away. These little hikers walked the ridge trail @nationaltrustni Divis and Black Mountain route today. It was a slippy one in places, with a few wobbles on the ice rink like paths and apparently this family only learns by experiencing and we had another soggy wet boot! 🏔 ☀️ home for dinner in front of the fire and some packing preparations for the next big adventure in a few weeks time!

How are you new year goals going? Some days are definitely better than others for our @1000hoursoutside challenge. The kids are definitely beating me! Weekends it goes well, weekdays can disappear too quickly! Some days I seem to go to work in the dark and home in the dark. When is it spring?

It’s been a bit of a tough week. The first week

It’s been a bit of a tough week. The first week back to routine is always hard to get into it but when there’s been so much sadness and loss in my wee city over these past days it’s been even tougher. Working in children’s mental health, while rewarding can be incredibly difficult. We really need to get a handle on our children’s mental health! Let’s hope with the new decade and new government they can actually resource our children across education and health. 🏔 🌲 🌳 ☀️ 🐿
Glad to get outside time today - taking in nature and trying to cultivate a bit more balance for these three adventurers.

Outdoor adventures continue on the last day of the

Outdoor adventures continue on the last day of the holidays. Back to school, work and routine tomorrow. Part of me wants it, part of me really does not. Lots of goals for January to get done as February holds some more adventures! Let’s hope we can keep the outdoor time once we are back to reality tomorrow.

Determined to get our @1000hoursoutside we decided to climb Slieve Croob today, up into a cloud! It was a windy one. Apparently the views are spectacular- we will be back to check them out when we can see more than a few metres in front of ourselves. Evening plans- thawing out in front of the fire! There’s been lots of lego time, sorting the house, and planning the adventures for 2020 this break. So much lego that this was nearly 1 am after our new year countdown and Mr 6 couldn’t go to bed until he had finished another bag of lego!

Our top 9 of 2019. It’s been a year of lots of family adventures from our Scotland road trip, to Oman, Dubai, Amsterdam, Brussels, Vienna, Salzburg, Munich and Moscow. We’ve also explored lots of Northern Ireland and started to camp! We’ve also squeezed in a few London adventures and some shows! All around work, study and children’s interests. No wonder I’m feeling tired! It’s been fun to start to record our adventures on our blog. Here’s to an adventure filled 2020.
